Why a startup merch store? Growing the number of visible supporters, investors, and members of the startup ecosystem in New Zealand is one way to build upon the hype and shared belief that the innovation and tech sector can and will have a positive material impact on Aotearoa’s future.
The fate and growth of Aotearoa’s startup ecosystem obviously won’t hinge on Startup Merch, though we’re in a unique position to aggregate and unify access to merch from startups across Aotearoa - and have startup logos popping up on shirts, hats, and tracksuits in every postcode in NZ and beyond.
Who are Icehouse Ventures?
Kia ora, we’re Icehouse Ventures, a Venture Capital firm from Aotearoa New Zealand. We’re a purpose-led investor that exists to fuel aspiration.
Over the last 20 years, we have scaled to become New Zealand’s most active venture investor, with a portfolio of more than 320 companies. We actively invest in privately held technology companies from pre-seed to pre-IPO and were among the earliest investors in companies including Halter, Tracksuit, Partly, Hnry, Crimson Education, Mint Innovation, and Dawn Aerospace.
We have a simple but audacious vision: a future vastly brighter than imaginable today. We believe entrepreneurs can materially contribute to achieving this vision.
In the near term, our mission is to be transformative investors in transformative New Zealand companies. Success will see us invest billions into thousands of Kiwi companies and become the venture capital firm for New Zealanders and by New Zealanders.
